“This is what I’m calling ’90s MTV nostalgia,” he says. “Aesthetics of retro idents, green screen, and memes.” It’s something CPB has recently channeled in their work for Ballantine’s whisky. “The early internet style has been around for a while,” he says, “with TikTok filters and lo-fi DIY content influencers extending its reach even further.” We were inspired by ’90s MTV idents for this project, giving back the sensation of couch surfing.
