Until now, rigid simplicity has been the driving force behind seamless experiences, but the future of UX design is bringing a lot more realism back into the mix. The UX design trends of 2022 are blurring the gap between the digital and the real like never before, whether it’s through augmented reality interfaces, lifelike animations, or escapism windows. Let’s take a look at the top 8 UX design trends for 2022 to understand what we mean.
1. Animations that are anthropomorphic
Given how much time we spend staring at our displays, it was only a matter of time before they started staring back at us. Fortunately, we’re not talking about self-aware computers just yet, but as the year 2021 approaches, many interfaces are taking on the look of life via anthropomorphic animations.
Blinking eyes and nodding heads are examples of animations that resemble human gestures. It contrasts with more flashy animation styles, such as the changing shapes of motion graphics that are prevalent in digital design.
The power of anthropomorphic animation, on the other hand, rests in its subtlety. You could be reading a product description when you discover the character next to it has just brushed her hair out of her eyes. The result is even more vivid as if the design is only vaguely aware of its own movements—much like real humans are.
2. Background is hazy and colourful

5. Typography that is bold

7. Voice instructions will (more) become (more) common
